And today I went to a free poetry workshop run by the British poet, John Siddique. The workshop was organised by Vienna Lit and took place in the Hauptbuecherei. Here’a a pic of Vienna taken from the top of the stairs of that public library.
It was so good just to play with words again.
After the workshop, Jean Kremlicka and Michaela Gabriel (Michi) read from their work, and John read some new poems, as well as ones from his books, Poems from a Northern Soul, The Prize and Don’t wear it on your head, don’t stick it in your pants: Poems for young people. And here you can listen to one of John’s poems – “Yes” – by courtesy of John Siddique and the Vienna Lit site. A terrific Saturday afternoon and cool inside out of the 30 degrees Vienna heatwave.
