Special guest at the Open Mic this month was Gabriele Petricek reading from her book of stories Zimmerfluchten. Peter Waugh also read excerpts from Gabriele’s book that he had translated into English.
After the break, Gabriel Rosenstock and some of the Haiku class – Jean, Vicki, Sandra, Ide and yours truly – read from their work. But only Jean and Ide read from the workshop with Ide’s work representing what was christened ideku, his own special type of freestyle. I couldn’t resist reading Old Japan, a bit of whimsy about a leprechaun in a kimono. A super end to a great week.
