I got tagged by The Pornographer of Vienna …

well actually, by the book’s author, Lewis Crofts. I’m more than halfway through Lewis’ novel on Egon Schiele, so you can bet that I am truly honoured – it is a fine work.

Anyway, being tagged means there’s stuff to do and rules to follow. I know, I know, rules are made to be broken, but it’s early days yet, so here they are:

a. Link to the person who tagged you. (Done)
b. Post the rules on your blog. (Done)

c. Write six random things about yourself. (to do)
d. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (to do)
e. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog. (to do)
f. Let your tagger know when your entry is up (to do).

c. six random things about self – but how can there be six random things about something or someone if random means that there’s no relation to that something or someone, or am I confused?

Sigh. 6 things. Ah, maybe 6 things unrelated to each other about something or someone, in this case Me-rc. OK.

1. I’m trying to write haiku while the pigeon shakes its head.
2. I’ll soon be reading erotica – in public, in Vienna. Why do they call it erotica in English? – anywhere else it’s lit. Paintings are different.
3. I’m going to do a one-hour course at the local BauMax in June to learn how to look after my roses – I am fed up with squelching sticky little bugs off the buds.
4. I have started the pineapple part of day one of the hollywood diet.
5. I turned my back on King Fag on 4 April. (Actually 4. is related to 5. due to nicotine withdrawal-related weight gain. Rule break, I guess.)
6. I don’t want to think about failing my thesis.

d. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. OK. Now how do I tag them? I’ll try this: DL Nelson, Catherine Nelson-Pollard, Mitzi Szereto, John Siddique, El Gringoqueno with a tilda on the n, Alistair Scott.

Now what is all this nonsense in aid of? Well, it made me think who and why and what. And as Lewis says, I guess it makes things go click in the ether, and maybe in someone’s mind, and maybe people come to read what the nonsense is about and stumble onto something new or different, or start seeing things in a new way, or …..
