My story, “The Burka” will be included in 100 Stories for Queensland, a charity anthology of short stories following in the footsteps of 100 Stories for Haiti and 50 Stories for Pakistan. 100% of sales profits go to The Queensland Premier’s Flood Appeal.
“The Burka” was a finalist at Red Room´s Scandalously Short Story Contest in October 2010.
When in January 2010, Greg McQueen called out to writers around the world to submit stories to help Haiti and, in the same year, Pakistan, he proved that passion can indeed make possible.
Jodi Cleghorn and her team keep that passion alive with 100 Stories for Queensland which will be released on 8 March 2011.
I am very proud to be part of this project.
That’d be it. Wow. Pretty special thing to have been a part of – pod patrol!
Don´t know exactly. She said Golden Bay. They worked for 7 hours until the tide came in. Now they´re down by the glacier.
At Onetahua? Hope the remaining whales stay out at sea now! Fantastic of your daughter and pals to help with that.
Ta, Rachel. Oh, and I thought you´d like zo know that our daughter and her mates were helping to try and save the whales down your way recently.
Excellent!
